ITBP Constable Telecom Exam Syllabus 2019

The Indo Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP) has invited online applications from eligible Indian citizens (MALE & FEMALE) for filling up the 218 vacancies for the Non-Gazetted & Non-Ministerial posts of Constable (Telecom) in Group ‘C’ on temporary basis likely to be made permanent in Indo Tibetan Border Police Force. The Online Application was submitted from 29/10/2018 to 27/11/2018. Selection Procedure:

PHASE – I

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

For Male Candidates
i) 1.6 Kms Race To be completed within 7.30 Minutes.
ii) Long Jump 11 Feet (03 Chances)
iii) High Jump 3½ Feet (03 Chances)
For Female Candidates
i) 800 Meters Race To be completed within 4.45 Minutes
ii) Long Jump 9 Feet (03 Chances)
iii) High Jump 3 Feet (03 Chances)

No marks will be awarded for this test and it will be only qualifying in nature. Those who do not qualify will be eliminated at this stage itself. Pregnancy at the time of race will be considered a disqualification and pregnant female candidates shall be rejected at this stage.

Note: – PET will not be held for Ex-servicemen. However, Ex-servicemen will be required to pass the requisite PST, written test and medical examination.

Physical Standard Test (PST)

Candidates who qualify the PET will be screened for Height, Chest and Weight measurements. Those who do not meet the required physical measurements as applicable will be eliminated at this stage.

PHASE – II

Written Test

The candidates who qualify PET & PST will have to appear in written examination. The written test will consist of OMR based objective type multiple choice questions to be answered using a Blue or Black Ball pen only or Computer-based objective type multiple choice questions at the discretion of ITBP.

Written Exam Pattern

  • The question paper will be set bilingually in Hindi and English.
  • The questions for written test shall be of 10th standard.
  • Question Paper Will be of 100 Marks/ Questions.
  • The Time Duration of Exam Will be 02 Hours (120 Minutes).

The cut-off percentage of marks for qualifying in written exam of all three advertised posts will be as under:-

Merit List

After completion of the written test, Merit lists in each category namely, Gen, SC, ST, OBC (NCL) and Ex-servicemen will be drawn on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidates in the written examination. The candidates shall be shortlisted for Detailed Medical Examination (DME) as per the category wise vacancies on the basis of this merit. The extended list shall also be prepared to cover the shortfall due to the failure of candidates in DME and Review Medical Examination (RME). However, there shall be no reserve list.

Phase III (VERIFICATION OF ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS)

Testimonials of the candidates will be checked before the Detailed Medical Examination (DME), the candidates will be required to produce the original documents related to Educational and Professional qualifications, date of birth etc.

Detailed Medical Examination:

Candidates shortlisted in order of merit as per category wise number of vacancies will be put through DME to assess their fitness as per medical policy issued by MHA.

ITBP Constable Telecom Exam Syllabus:

General English:- Verb, preposition, adverb, subject-verb agreement, Error Correction/ recognition, tenses, sentences rearrangement, fill in the blanks with articles etc., comprehension, answering questions based on unseen passage, vocabulary, synonyms and antonyms usage, vocabulary & grammar, Proficiency in the language.

General Hindi:- वर्तनी की सामान्य अशुद्धियाँ तथा शब्दों  के शब्द  रूप, शब्दों के स्त्रीलिंग, बहुवचन, किसी वाक्य को अन्य लिंग में परिवर्तन, मुहावरा उनका अर्थ, अशुद्ध वाक्यों के शुद्ध रूप, विलोमार्थी शब्द, समानार्थी पर्यायवाची शब्द, अनेक शब्दों के लिए एक शब्द, कहावतें लोकोक्तियां के अर्थ, संधि विच्छेद, क्रिया से भाववाचक संज्ञा बनाना, रचना एवं रचयिता इत्यादि|

General Awareness:- Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, scientific Research etc. These Questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.

Quantitative Aptitude Test:- This paper will include questions on problems relating to Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions and relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work, etc.

Reasoning Aptitude:- This component may include questions on Ranking & Order, Blood Relation, analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, etc.
