The Staff Selection Commission will conduct an open examination for recruitment  2018 to the posts of Constable (GD) in, BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSB, NIA and SSF and Rifleman in Assam Rifles as per the Recruitment Scheme formulated by the Ministry of Home Affairs and as per the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and the Staff Selection Commission. SSC GD Eligibility Criteria 2018

Educational Qualifications: Candidate must be Matriculation or Xth class pass from a recognized board/university.

SSC GD Constable Recruitment 2017

AGE LIMIT: The age of candidates applying for these posts should be between 18-23 years i.e Candidates should not have been born earlier than 02.08.1995 and not later than 01.08.2000. The upper age limit is relaxable for SC, ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen and other categories of persons in accordance with the Governments orders on the subject.

  • SC/ST: Relaxation up to 5 years
  • OBC: Relaxation up to 3 years
  • Ex-Servicemen (General): 03 years after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age as on the date of reckoning
  • Ex-Servicemen (OBC): 06 years (3 years + 3 years) after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age as on the date of reckoning.
  • Ex-Servicemen (SC/ST): 08 years (3 years + 5 years) after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age as on the date of reckoning.
  • Candidates of J&K State Domiciled: Up to 10 years

Physical Standards:

Physical standards laid down for the post of Constable are –

a) Height :

  • For Males: 170 cms.
  • For Females: 157 cms.

b) Chest :

  • For males only – Unexpanded: 80 cms.
  • Expanded: Min expansion 5 cms.

c) Weight: For males and Females: Proportionate to height and age as per medical standards.

The minimum height of candidates falling in the categories of Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Dogras, Marathas and candidates belonging to the States of Assam, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir will be 165 cms for males and 155 cms for females. The minimum height for all candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes will be 162.5 cms for males and 150 cms for females.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates who are found eligible on height parameters will undergo PET (race) followed by biometric identification & screening of testimonials and thereon chest and weight measurements by a board.

  • Male Candidates: 5 km in 24 minutes
  • Female Candidates: 1.6 km in 8 1/2 minutes

Note: The PET will not be held for Ex-Servicemen in Staff Selection Commission GD Constable. However, they will be required to qualify in the medical examination.

SSC GD Constable Online Application Form 2018

The facility for submitting online applications is available on http://ssconline.nic.in and http://ssconline2.gov.in for all states candidates except the states of Jammu and Kashmir and the North Eastern States. These candidates from these areas have to apply with the offline application form. All the candidates are advised to read and check all the instructions carefully before starts filling SSC GD application form 2018.

Application Fees:

Offline Mode (Only for J&K, North-Eastern States): The candidates should pay the fee of Rs. 100/- (Rs. Fifty only) by means of “Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS) only. CRFS stamps are available at the counter of all Departmental Post Offices of the country.

Online Mode: The candidates submitting their applications on-line should pay the requisite fee only through State Bank of India either in the form of challan or online payment through SBI Challan/Net Banking/Credit and Debit cards.

Note: Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation are exempted from paying fees. BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSB, NIA and SSF.

SSC Constable GD Selection Process:

The selection of candidates on the SSC Constable (GD) post vacancies will be on the basis of PST/PET (Physical Standard Test/ Physical Efficiency Test) followed by the Written Examination and Medical Examination.

SSC GD Written Exam Pattern: The written examination will consist of one objective type paper containing 100 questions carrying 100 marks from the following below subjects:

SSC Constable GD Cut Off Marks: The minimum cut off percentage of marks for selection of SSC Constable (GD) will normally be as under:

  • General and Ex-servicemen: 35%
  • SC/ST/OBC : 33%
